CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme
You may be aware that the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme commences on 1-Apr-10. All businesses with a hh electricity meter will be required to participate or incur fines.
You need to be thinking about the following issues now to ensure you are not fined or penalised:
- If you consume less than 6 GWh of Half-Hourly metered electricity during 2008 you have to provide basic information on your meters, annual usage and contact details on the online CRC Registry by 30-Sep-10.
- If you consume more than 6 GWH of Half-Hourly metered electricity during 2008 you should establish a CRC project to ensure your obligations are met.
- Click here to link through to the Department of Energy and Climate Change website and search for their
latest version of the CRC User Guide. - Determine whether you can opt out of the Scheme by meeting exception criteria such as minimum Climate Change Agreement coverage by 30-Sep-10.
- Avoid League Table penalties by meeting the Early Action Plan targets by 31-Mar-11 which requires installing automated meter readers and implementing Carbon Trust Standards.
